Scarf Yarn

I guess winter wants to hang around for a little longer.

We have just received a shipment of scarf yarn - so come on in and see what we have.
We have also received a limitted shipment of the Piccadily and Covent Garden yarns.

Unfortunately my computer is acting up and I can't add a photo of the yarns :(

Happy Knitting everyone.
See you soon

Perfect day for knitting

What a perfect day for knitting.  It's cold outside but warm inside :)

What to Thank Deb Gemmell from Cabin Fever Knits for taking the time out of her busy schedule to come up and teach out Top-Down Sweater Workshop in February.  It was great to have Deb in our shop - she had wonderful information for all who attended on how to make your top-down sweater fit you perfectly.  Everyone was excited to start on their very own top-down sweater design and I have been talking to some of the attendees and their projects are coming along great.

I have started my top down cardigan and can't wait to see it completed.  I am very excited as this will be the first sweater I am making with Malabrigo Rios and I have to say that I LOVE this yarn.

You may have heard, but I would like to officially welcome Janet to our shop.  You will find Janet very helpful, knowledgeable and always willing to help.  So Janet - welcome to Sweet Yarns.   I am very happy to have you working with me.

What do I have on my needles - well there is the top down sweater (as mentioned above) and there is the Swirl Sweater from the Knit Swirl book.  Now I am not the only one that has embarked on this adventure and yes I would say that it is an adventure.  There is a group that meets regularly at the store on Saturday afternoons to compare notes on our swirl sweaters.  Here is mine - only on welt 5.  If you are thinking of making one of these (which I think will turn out beautiful) make sure that your stitches are NOT twisted when you join in the round - this is tricky and can happen as it has happened to some in our group to great dismay as they must tear back thousands of stitches and knit again.  At that point you must repeat the mantra "it's all knitting - it's all knitting" :)

Socks are next on my list as well a beautiful little shawl; but no pictures of that yet as they are not on the needles - but soon.

The store has been restocked and the yarn is now by weight through-out the store - I hope you will find this helpful.  It's like a new treasure hunt.
